Self-Enrolling in a Course

Learn how to join an Arist course yourself using an enrollment link, a QR code, a course code, or your organization's course catalog.

Platform access level: Everyone. Written for learners joining a course themselves; Distributors share the link or code.

Joining an Arist course takes about a minute, and you can do it yourself with a link, a QR code, or a course code. Once you enroll, lessons arrive right in the tool you already use.

a course page opened from the course catalog: the course description, a card listing what the course includes, meaning its lesson count, its question count and when sending starts, and the Enroll button that signs you up

1. Enrolling with a link or QR code

The enrollment page asks where to send your lessons before it confirms your place.

the Enroll in course page for one course: the question Where should we send your course, the note that only U.S. and Canada phone numbers are supported for two-way SMS, the address Arist already has on file, Enter a different address selected below it, and the country code and phone number fields that choice opens
  1. Open the course enrollment page by clicking the link or scanning the QR code you were given.

  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to sign up, then click Enroll.

  3. Choose how you want to receive your lessons, from the delivery methods your organization has enabled. Any address Arist already has for you appears as an option. To use another one, select Enter a different address.

  4. Depending on how the schedule is set up, you may also choose a delivery time and your timezone, which set when lessons arrive on each delivery day.

2. Using a course code

If you were given a course code instead of a link, send the code as a message on the platform where you received it, and Arist enrolls you from there. Codes are set by your organization, so this path is available once they have turned it on.

In Microsoft Teams, you can also enroll from inside the Arist app:

  1. Open the Arist app in Microsoft Teams.

  2. Click the three-dot menu on your enrollments page and select Enroll. If you do not see this option, your organization has not enabled it.

  3. Enter your course sign-up code on the screen that appears.

Note: If the app name includes (Legacy), you are in Arist's older app rather than the current one, so switch apps before you continue.

3. Browsing your organization's course catalog

Some organizations share a catalog you can join courses from at any time, without logging in.

the course catalog page: course cards with Course details and Quick enroll buttons, plus search and filters
  1. Open your organization's course catalog page.

  2. Browse the available courses, or search for a specific topic.

  3. Select Course details to learn more, then select Quick enroll when you are ready.

  4. Complete any required details, like choosing your delivery method.

4. What happens after you enroll

A confirmation page names your course and the time your lessons start arriving.

the enrollment confirmation page headed Success, confirming you are now enrolled, naming the course and the time sending is scheduled to start, adding that no further action is needed and that the first message arrives by SMS, with a Back to my enrollments link

Nothing else is needed from you. When it is time for your first lesson, you will receive a welcome message covering what the course is about, its schedule and format, and who to contact for support.

If your welcome message hasn't arrived, check the phone number you entered when you enrolled, including the country code. Messages never reach a mistyped number. If you find a mistake, enroll again with the correct number and a new welcome message follows. If your number was already correct, see Why are course messages delayed? for the other reasons a first message can take longer.

Note: If you deliver courses, you control all of these options from a schedule's Share schedule panel. See Sharing Courses for Self-Enrollment.
